Glory Square (Sovetskaya Square)
The historical center of Mogilyov is the Trade (Governor’s, Dumskaya), and now Soviet Square . It is connected not only with the history of trade, crafts and self-government of the city, but also the fate of Lev Sapegi , Peter I , Charles XII , Catherine II and the last Russian emperor Nicholas II .
Sovetskaya Square is a witness of the revolutionary events and the heroic defense of 1941. The memorial complex “Fighters for Soviet Power” is installed on the square and the eternal flame burns in memory of the heroism and courage of the defenders of the fatherland.
